What is an industrial data logger?

As the name suggests, industrial data loggers are designed to measure and log measured values in a company’s production environment. These are often dusty environments subject to very high or even very low temperatures, vibrations, noise and other factors. This type of data logger is designed so it can take a knock.

Industrial data logger applications

Among its other applications, industrial data loggers can be used to gain insight into the temperature curve of a process. For instance, some data loggers are built to withstand oven temperatures. This makes them suitable for jobs such as measuring and registering the bread-baking process in the oven.

These loggers are capable of taking high-speed measurements. They make it possible to monitor fast processes with high-speed inputs of up to 100Hz. These too can be configured in a modular way, allowing a range of different inputs, such as pulse, current, voltage, thermocouples or PT100.

Industrial data loggers are also used to give operators a clear picture of the production process. Both the current value and the history can be viewed directly. This type of data logger can be built into portable measuring cases or supplied as fixed installations in a control cabinet or panel.

Pedak’s industrial data loggers feature up to 200 channels and are fitted with graphic displays. The loggers make it possible to store the measured values and transfer them to a computer either directly or by USB. If the values are exceeded, then the alarm will be triggered.

How do I choose the right industrial data logger?

At Pedak, we understand that there is a whole host of data loggers available. That is why we are happy to help by analysing the question with you and identifying the factors that are key to making the right choice. Being independent advisors, we can examine which one is most appropriate for your organisation.
