Milesight EM500-PP Wireless Pipe Pressure Sensor
The Milesight EM500-PP is a wireless pressure sensor designed for continuous measurement and monitoring of pressure in pipelines. The sensor is suitable for both liquids and gases and can be used in applications including water systems, industrial pipelines, tank systems and technical installations.
Measurement data is transmitted wirelessly over long distances via LoRaWAN®, making the EM500-PP particularly suitable for locations where installing communication cabling would be difficult or expensive.
Reliable pressure measurement up to 16 bar
The EM500-PP measures pipe pressure over a range of 0 to 1,600 kPa (0–16 bar). With an accuracy of ±0.5% FS, changes in pipeline pressure can be reliably monitored.
Continuous pressure monitoring enables abnormal conditions to be detected at an early stage. This helps monitor installations and can contribute to the early detection or prevention of problems such as abnormal pressure, leakage and pipe failures.
The sensor provides a resolution of 1 kPa (0.01 bar) and supports overload up to 150% FS.
Suitable for liquids and gases
The EM500-PP can be integrated into a wide range of piping systems carrying liquids or gases. The pressure sensor is manufactured from 316L stainless steel and features a G 1/2″ male process connection.
Its resistance to shock, vibration and corrosion makes the sensor suitable for demanding industrial environments.
Wireless monitoring via LoRaWAN
Measurement data is transmitted via LoRaWAN®, allowing pressure measurements to be sent over long distances to a gateway and subsequently to a monitoring platform.
Multiple pressure measurement points can therefore be monitored centrally without requiring a separate communication connection for each measurement location.
Long battery life
The EM500-PP is powered by a 19,000 mAh Li-SOCl₂ battery. With a 10-minute measurement and transmission interval, the battery can provide up to 10 years of operation under ideal conditions.
This makes the sensor suitable for long-term autonomous monitoring at locations without a permanent power supply.
Robust design
The LoRaWAN transceiver has an IP67-rated enclosure and can operate at temperatures from -30 to +70 °C. The stainless steel pressure sensor has an IP65 rating and an operating temperature range from -10 to +70 °C.
The transceiver can be mounted on a wall, pole or DIN rail and is connected to the pressure sensor by a 1.5-metre cable.
Easy configuration and data logging
The EM500-PP can easily be configured using a smartphone via NFC. Configuration is also possible via USB-C and LoRaWAN downlink.
The internal data logger can store up to 1,000 measurements. The sensor also supports features including data retransmission, data retrieval and threshold alarms.
