The Milesight EM500-LGT is a wireless light intensity sensor designed for accurate ambient light monitoring. With its wide measuring range of 0 to 100,000 lux and fast one-second response time, the sensor quickly detects changes in light intensity.
The EM500-LGT is suitable for applications including horticulture, floriculture, public lighting, security and automatic lighting control. The separate IP65 light sensor is connected to the IP67 LoRaWAN transceiver by a three-metre cable. This makes the system suitable for outdoor installations and other demanding environments.
Measurement data is transmitted wirelessly using LoRaWAN. Depending on the environment, the communication range can reach approximately 2 kilometres in urban areas and 15 kilometres in rural areas. At a ten-minute reporting interval, the integrated battery provides an expected service life of up to ten years.
The sensor can be configured easily via NFC using a smartphone and the Milesight ToolBox app. The EM500-LGT can store up to 1,000 measurements locally and supports data retransmission, historical data retrieval and threshold alarms.
