HOBO MX2307A – Wireless Soil Moisture, EC, Temperature and Humidity Data Logger

The MX2307A is particularly suitable for research, greenhouse applications, agriculture, horticulture and other applications where accurate information on soil and environmental conditions is required.

Using Bluetooth Low Energy, the logger can be easily configured and measurement data can be downloaded wirelessly using the free HOBOconnect app on a smartphone, tablet or Windows computer.

Monitor soil and climate simultaneously

Plant growth is not only influenced by the amount of water in the soil. Temperature, humidity and soil electrical conductivity also play an important role.

The HOBO MX2307A therefore combines multiple measurements in a single system:

• Volumetric Water Content (VWC)
• soil Electrical Conductivity (EC)
• soil temperature
• air temperature
• relative humidity
• calculated dew point temperature
• calculated Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD)

This enables you to monitor changes in soil and microclimate conditions over extended periods and analyse the relationship between different environmental parameters.

Ready to use

The MX2307A comes with a pre-connected soil sensor with a 2-metre cable. The stainless steel measurement probes ensure reliable placement and good contact with the soil.

The sensor is suitable for both mineral soils and soilless growing media/substrates. Soil moisture measurements can also be displayed as a percentage of Field Capacity.

Thanks to the logger’s robust IP67 enclosure, the system is suitable for long-term monitoring in demanding outdoor environments.

Wireless data access with HOBOconnect

No physical connection is required to configure or read the logger. Bluetooth connectivity allows you to communicate directly with the logger using the free HOBOconnect app.

The wireless range is approximately 30 metres (line-of-sight) under optimal conditions.

HOBOconnect allows you to:

• configure logging intervals;
• start and stop measurements;
• view current measurement values;
• download stored measurement data;
• export data for further analysis.

For applications such as greenhouses, the MX2307A can also be combined with an MX Gateway and an appropriate data plan, enabling remote access to measurement data via LI-COR Cloud.
