What is a panel meter?

The digital panel meter is a display that can be built into a panel or a control cabinet and is used to display readings.

Panel meter applications

Digital panel meters are used to measure and display a variety of processes and electrical variables. For example, frequency, pressure, temperature, current, speed and other variables.

Panel meters feature a bright screen that displays the information and can be read from any distance. They are available with numeric, alpha numeric and/or histogram displays to show a level or status at a glance. Various digit heights are available, ranging from 8 mm to over 200 mm, offering reading distances of up to around 80 metres.

The display comes in a choice of colours, such as red, orange, green or blue. Panel meters are available with one or more switching contacts to control alarms or heating, or to connect to a programmable logic controller (PLC). Simple installation in control cabinets or machines. Besides the standard analogue inputs for current or voltage, there are also versions with inputs for pulse, temperature, frequency, load cells and even Modbus. The supply voltage depends on the display: 24VDC or 230VAC.

Pedak’s panel meters are suitable for many industrial and non-industrial applications. Various types are available in a range of dimensions and are suitable for both flush and surface fitting.

Protection categories of up to IP65 are available, according to the type of display.
