E paper display – A display that works without power!

The E-paper display is a black and white display that can operate without power. E-paper displays only use power when they change display. This technology works through conductive plastic. The screen is filled with spheres that react to voltage. These spheres are filled with white and black electrolytic particles. If there is a plus voltage on the screen, the black particles come up. The image on the right shows a clearer picture of this. This is how things can be displayed.

E-paper displays can be found in various e-readers, (sports) watches or the adjustable price displays in for example the Mediamarkt. The E-paper displays are available from 2 to 7 inches. Prices start from €16.66.
