Seeds meets Technology
Besides a fair with over 50 participants from home and abroad, the event consists of trial fields, water cultivation and a programme of various lectures and symposia.
The initiators behind the event are Incotec, Seed Processing Holland, TeaL Agro Technologies and Vertify. Together they decided in 2014 to strengthen the programme in week 39 with themes such as seed treatment, seed processing equipment, phenotyping, sustainable crop protection and cultivation systems. The three-day event takes place in Vertify’s business halls and trial fields. Over 1700 visitors come to the show each year, the majority of which come from abroad.
Vegetable Trials
The Vegetable Trials include the demonstration fields around Vertify. Seed companies show their existing and new varieties on the fields. Guided tours can be booked every day. The Sakata open days are also located opposite Seed meets Technology.
Technology and Vegetable Trials
During the event, a distinction is made in the approach to target groups. At the fair, it is mainly technology that is on display. The participating seed companies will present their varieties outside under the name ‘Vegetable Trials’. Several times a day, ‘variety tours’ will be organised, aimed at growers. They will visit the trial fields outside, both at Seed meets Technology and at Sakata, which has a large platform opposite Vertify.
Pedak at the Seed meets Technology; Wednesday 29 September
During the Seed Meets Technology we will demonstrate the various measuring devices of the brands Onset, Novasina and Nokeval on Wednesday 29 September.
With wireless sensors you can form a strong network, on your field or in your greenhouse, to collect measurement values. Climate conditions are flawlessly mapped and collected through one base station. The more sensors, the greater the range. Strong deviations from the basic values are signalled automatically.
Gain insight into the climate and environment of your crop and use the data from the measurements for your cultivation strategy. Monitor weather conditions and your indoor climate by providing insight into parameters such as precipitation, wind, moisture, soil quality, water quality, light intensity and temperature.
By providing insight into temperature, humidity, pH and conductivity, you can develop the ideal recipe for plant growth in a climate cell (vertical farming) in order to achieve the optimal harvest in the shortest possible time.
Our sensors generate reliable, accurate data without interference. In addition, they are so robust that they continue to function in the event of heavy precipitation and high wind speeds. Each sensor is independent, has solar cells and is equipped with an internal memory so that data is never lost. Data processing is web-based and completely wireless.
